Bayside & District Netball Association

The Bayside & District Netball Association (BDNA) is the home of netball in Melbourne's Bayside area and home of the Bayside Dragons, operating their new state-of-the-art Bayside Community Sports Centre that serves nearly 2,500 players from 12 local clubs and operates as both the home court and training venue for Southern Saints VNL Club. 

The eleven-court facility, which opened in February 2024, represents a significant upgrade from their previous seven-court venue where space constraints forced BDNA to become the only netball association in Victoria to place restrictions on membership based on location. 

The two indoor multipurpose courts serve as a shared venue with Sandringham College during school hours, creating a challenge for BDNA who needed flexible seating that could transform their courts from training spaces to spectator-ready venues whilst maintaining maximum floor space.

Alloyfold delivered 7x Tip n Roll portable grandstand units designed for flexible event seating. 

Each standalone unit features three tiers with five seats across, finished in black to complement the facility's modern aesthetic.

These portable systems can be quickly deployed and repositioned to provide optimal sightlines for spectators watching elite netball competitions whilst supporting rapid transitions between different activities throughout BDNA's busy schedule.

The installation has transformed the centre into a versatile venue that seamlessly transitions from school gymnasium use to elite training facilities and competition venues. 

The Bayside Dragons and other BDNA teams can now host larger competitions with appropriate spectator facilities whilst maintaining floor space for training sessions, school activities, and community programmes. 

This supports BDNA's mission to grow netball participation in the Bayside community whilst providing a professional environment for players and spectators from grassroots to elite levels.
